Pearls (part 2)

Second and final entry.

*

I raise a plea to find you

like a ragged flag

and wonder if

through fragile truths

our lives will sail into each other

once again

if it was truly sweetness

if everything they say about you is true

meanwhile I’ll put my life out to dry

wishing you had stayed

with the rest of us

*

is it fair to say I lost

like the countless others

is the depth of pain

measured from within

freed up in the wind

or is it trapped

tight in between your teeth

a moan subdued

by willpower

is it fair then to say

you have won

in the pain you carry

while the countless others

are lost in their singing

in their bellowing madness

*

your broken heart

split in two little sparrows

sink in the sunset

twin silent poems

*

a simple odd piece

where violence rests

an anvil

fruitful vein that once was

her face

almost incorruptible

as the lie of love

she kept planning on suicide

until she died of regret

it rained for days

as forgotten memories
*

a river in my head

holds steady

bury it while it’s night

because it will be mine

by moonrise

*

before you know

a drop of light

begged

to not fall into despair

and preserve her virginity

like an ecstasy

confided to the echo

*

a pyre of truth

raised over a moon that never wanes

solitary

like a secret wrapped up in lies

your eyes

hearts of no other sorrow

setting it ablaze

and your hands

holding the horizon

so, are you the priest?

such as I am

I burn

into the freedom of ashes

*

a mind opens the womb

in tears

for the dream never awakened

and for waking never come true

it opens the womb still

like a curse

when your turn comes

to reap the harvest in the flesh

remember

the wind to pierce the sails

and your tears the soil

*

will I live to see the other half

of your love

meet the geometry of your lips

before love loses its taste

or our memories meaning

is it my turn to leave

or just another exercise

in the art of dying

fate unfolds like a thought

while I get lost

in the art of loving you

hoping my turn comes

after knowing

the taste of your truth
